Why you’ll love laser hair removal

Our Laser Hair Removal treatments are safe, fast, effective and very low-pain. Best of all, they’re suitable for all skin tones and permanently reduce hair growth.

That means you’ll be waving goodbye to shaving, in-grown hairs, and those expensive monthly waxing or threading appointments - and saying hello to effortlessly smooth skin.

How laser hair removal works

We use medical-grade Candela Pro Max lasers for all our laser treatments – they’re designed to treat lighter and darker skin tones in the same amount of time and with the same fantastic results.

Our lasers send a safe, concentrated beam of light into your hair follicles, just beneath the skin. That beam is converted into heat and absorbed by the individual hair follicles, restricting the pigment and stopping them from re-growing.

We only use medical-grade Candela™ GentleMax Pro Lasers, considered the gold standard systems for laser hair removal worldwide. These lasers are suitable for ALL skin tones and skin types.

The Candela laser targets the hair follicles at the root of the hair. Laser light energy travels down the hair and transforms to heat, causing damage to the hair follicle to prevent the hair regrowth over the course of your sessions.

The lasers use two different wavelengths of light, Alexandrite and ND:YAG, allowing us to treat all skin tones.

The lasers also combine a unique patented Dynamic Cooling Device to blow cool air on the skin, making laser hair removal very low pain – much less than waxing or threading!

Laser hair removal is only performed by highly qualified and experienced therapists, meaning you’re in safe hands here at EverySkin.

Preparing for your treatment

For 4 weeks before your appointment, do not wax, tweeze or thread the areas you’ll be treating. Shaving during your treatment course is fine though.

For 2 weeks before your appointment, avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds – we won’t be able to treat you otherwise.

For 2 weeks before, avoid fake tans, spray tans, chemical peels and laser resurfacing – having one of those treatments will mean we won’t be able to treat you.

12-24 hours before your appointment, please shave the part of your body you’ll be treated on.

If you’ve got any medical conditions or start taking any new medications, please let us know so we can assess whether this treatment is possible.

If you’re pregnant, we unfortunately won’t be able to perform this treatment – but talk to our therapists, and they’ll help you arrange a later date when you can join us, as well as suggesting other treatments for you.

After-treatment care

Caring for your skin after your Laser Hair Removal is simple – for 1 week, apply a soothing aloe vera gel.

Avoid shaving and exfoliating treated areas for at least 5 days after treatment. From day 5, you are free to begin exfoliation, as this will help encourage the hairs to fall out.

Avoid direct sun exposure to the treated area and wear SPF protection outside for two weeks.

Avoid any intense workouts, saunas or steam rooms, hot showers or baths for the next 24 hours.

If you want to, you can shave between appointments as normal.

Ask us anything about laser hair removal

Laser Hair Removal is very low pain – it feels a bit like a rubber band snapping against your skin, and for most people, it’s much less painful than waxing or threading.

If you do experience any mild discomfort after your treatment, such as redness or itchiness, we recommend applying a soothing aloe vera gel.

For most people, hair begins to fall out roughly 2 weeks after treatment.

That can vary from person-to-person, depending on your hair type, colour and growth, but completing the advised number of sessions – typically 8 - 10 appointments -– will give you the best results.

Almost. Laser Hair Removal doesn't remove hair forever, but it does permanently reduce hair growth by 80%-90%. You should only need 1-2 top-ups each year to keep your skin smooth and hair-free.

Sessions range from 5 minutes to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. Underarm treatments typically take about 5 minutes, and a full body treatment can take about 1 hour.

It varies from person-to-person depending on your hair type, skin tone and ethnicity. Our experienced therapists create a personalised treatment plan that will work best for you – but we usually advise 8 - 10 sessions. For the face area, we typically recommend starting with 10-12 treatments.

Most areas require treatment every 4-6 weeks, while hormonal areas such as the face may need treatment every 2-4 weeks.

No, there’s no downtime at all. You may experience some redness afterward, but we’ll apply a calming gel immediately after your treatment to soothe that away.

Laser hair removal does require a certain level of pigment in the follicle to be effective. This means that for the moment we are still unable to effectively treat extremely blonde, white or grey hairs.

For anyone with red hair we recommend coming in to talk with one of our expert therapists. Treatments can still have effect on red hair, however the results may vary from the expected 80-90% hair reduction.
